Proposition I
Designer defensiveness is directly proportional to solution fragility.
On a more serious note, I can relate to that proposition or let's rather say, I'm being defensive when fragile business processes are designed and I then try to influence these processes to be drafted "less fragile". That's perfectly natural IMHO because once the Process and the Design is completed, who is going to be the idiot that has to deal with scaling and maintenance? The Developer/Designer :-|
