Hi Shravan,
being a Mechanical Engineering background i hope you don't like coding part ( i am sorry if i am wrong).
So you can't be a technical person like being an abaper, now it comes to being a functional consultant in sap as you have told that you just have completed MS in management systems so there are many functional module in which you can make your career, like sap has CRM, SRM in which you can utilize your knowledge of Managment Information System.
Along with these module sap has many module which are closely related to Production and its distribution for materials, like SD (Sales and Distribution) , MM (Material Management).
So according to me you should choose those module in which you finds yourself as a passionate for it, because if you will choose your career by your interest and passion , then you will find it more fruitful in future. For better understandings of major sap modules you can google and read its specifications, and judge yourself that in which module you are more comfortable, then you can decide yourself in which module your career is.
Best Of Luck
