It is really depends on your business requirements. You can setup a table where the configuration needs to be transported or not and implement the BADI.
I think the Method name is IF_EX_PT_GEN_REQ~FIND_RESP_AND_DEFAULT_NEXT_PRC. If I am not mistaken.
